Lone Kristensen

I graduated in 1993 from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic as the valedictorian of my year. I am originally from Denmark, where I did one year at university before continuing my training for another 4 years in England.  I have during my 30+ years of practice done a wealth of courses in rehab, extremity treatment, Graston technique, taping and the treatment of sports injuries, arthritic complaints, headaches, shoulder and knee problems and disc injuries.  I am a full member of the British Chiropractic Association and the Royal College of Chiropractors UK and am registered with the General Chiropractic Council.

I have over the years treated professional dancers, actors, athletes from a variety of sports, and musicians, but I equally enjoy treating eg builders/plumbers/electricians with a multitude of work related aches and pains, or the retired person with arthritic pains or young people with eg sport related injuries.  I very often end up treating all individuals from a family for a variety of problems, and hence have become the go to musculoskeletal specialist for these families.  I really enjoy getting to know people well and very much appreciate the trust they put in me.

As a lot of people enter our clinics without a clear diagnosis, I especially enjoy the detective work involved in figuring out the diagnosis.  What is actually going on?! Following that I treat using manipulative therapy, soft tissue work, taping and give rehab exercises and ergonomic advice.  Sometimes, though, we may need x-rays/scans/referrals out of the house; I will take it all into consideration.

In my spare time, I love walking in the Peaks with my two dogs,

playing music and singing, and to throw clay around on a spinning

potter’s wheel ;-).

To see me, book an appoint at either Handsworth or Infirmary Road

clinics, just click the new patient link or phone and make an appointment.

Charlotte Moran

I graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic (AECC) in Bournemouth in 2020 with a Master of Chiropractic Degree (first class). After my studies, I wanted to move back to my home town of Sheffield and have worked at the Backactive Chiropractic Clinics between the Rotherham and Infirmary Road branches ever since.

I enjoy treating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, and love the job satisfaction that being a chiropractor brings when I see patients improving. I have treated patients from as young as three months to ninety one years old, illustrating there is no age restriction on chiropractic treatment. I use a range of techniques including soft tissue work, spinal manipulative therapy and dry needling. I believe that every patient requires treatment tailored to their individual needs and having a wide range of skills helps me to use the appropriate methods for each one. I believe that movement is medicine and my main goal is to get my patients moving as quickly and safely as possible.

In my spare time you will find me at my local Crossfit gym; hiking in the Peak District with friends and family or travelling/holidaying. In the Summer, I enjoy going camping and generally spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Adam Carr

My name is Adam Carr and I have been a Chiropractor since 2008, working in Manchester and Sheffield. Born and bred in Sheffield, after training to be a Chiropractor at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, the call of the Peak District brought me back to my hometown after a short stint on the 'wrong side' of the Pennines.

I have always loved the outdoors and being active, so what better place to live than the Outdoor City, with the Peak District at your doorstep! In a former life, I used to play tennis at a high level, the highlight being playing at Wimbledon in the Road to Wimbledon tournament. It was during my early tennis days that a few injuries led me to Handsworth Chiropractic Clinic as a patient myself. This experience helped cement my choice of career seeing first hand the difference chiropractic treatment can make to pain, function and performance.

My tennis rackets are now gathering dust, but that by no means stops me from being active every opportunity I get; I love to climb, cycle and hike and spend most of my free time outside with my wife, two girls and a (utterly crazy) Cockapoo. Suffice to say that I rarely get the chance to be bored.

It is this love of the outdoors and spending precious time with friends and family that motivates me most to do my job to allow others to stay active, enjoy the outdoors and go about their daily lives without pain. It also pushes me to continuing to learn and develop both personally and professionally. Some of the learning highlights have included further soft tissue qualifications including Graston technique and Dry Needling while continuing to develop my understanding of rehabilitation approaches to ensure that I have a range of tools to help my patients.

Gareth and  2024 Olympic Bronze Medalist (3m Synchro) Yasmin Harper, at the Sheffield Diving Annual Awards Ceremony 14 Sep 2024

I graduated in 1991 from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic, and have been busy at work ever since.

I enjoy treating all sorts of cases, but have a particular interest in improving function for the patient - things can always be better.  Whether you are a builder struggling with climbing a ladder, a teacher on your feet all day, giving you low back ache or sudden severe pain with digging in the garden or many other issues.... by improving the function you feel better.

This is even more keenly felt by top athletes. As a result I have worked with GB athletes in a number of fields, more recently I have spent a number of years working with world class Divers and Trampolinists. Which recently culminated in World Champion Trampolinist Bryony Page winning gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Yasmin Harper, and Jordan Holden from the local City of Sheffield Diving Club coming top 5 in the Olympic 3m Diving events and Yasmin getting Bronze in the 3m Synchro event.

I had done an Applied Mathematics BSc(Hons) degree and was working as an Analytical Computer Programmer, and competing on a local level as a Black Belt in Judo, when I became interested in Chiropractic. During training I hurt my low back, and it was my dad who suggested I see a Chiropractor for treatment. Instead of going to the local Chiropractor I travelled from Reading down to Bournemouth to get assessed, diagnosed, and have treatment at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. The treatment worked, my interest developed. I then decided to be a Chiropractor, enrolled and the rest is history.

We moved up to the Sheffield area in 1993 and loved it here, so we set up clinics and have been here ever since!

I also enjoy playing music and have been playing the Saxophone for a number of years in bands ranging from Two-Tone, Ska, and Reggae to Jazz.

We strive to help you get better, active and comfortable as quickly as possible.
